This historic structure is recognized as a significant part of Beaverton’s National Register Historic District. Loyal Legion Beer Hall: Reviving a Historic Space

On November 13, 2021, the second Loyal Legion Beer Hall opened its doors in this iconic building. Loyal Legion’s leadership is honored to call this historic site home. The venue includes a 150-seat beer bar, an upstairs cocktail bar named Flora in the building’s former office spaces, and a private event area. Outdoors, a 3,000-square-foot, 100-seat patio—formerly a parking lot—is set to feature a large canopy, making it a versatile space for gatherings. The building’s original white oak chevron-patterned hardwood flooring remains intact, maintaining the historical charm. Beaverton’s Restaurant Row and Urban Renewal

Loyal Legion is one of 40 dining establishments that form part of Beaverton’s Restaurant Row, a deliberate revitalization initiative launched by the city in 2017. As part of this effort, Henry Point Development partnered with Chef’s Table Group to bring Loyal Legion to life in this renewed space. After the Beaverton Urban Redevelopment Agency (BURA) acquired and resold the property, the project’s restoration earned the prestigious 2022 DeMuro Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.

“Its reuse not only breathes new life into one of Beaverton’s historic sites, it celebrates an architectural gem and embodies a significant period in Beaverton’s development as a city,” stated Restore Oregon.

Revitalization Through Community Support

Grant funding from the city’s Storefront and Tenant Improvement programs played a crucial role in the building’s transformation. This project serves as an exemplary model of how main streets and business districts can be revitalized to drive economic growth while preserving historical integrity.
